Indications
This product is used
1. Hyperlipidemia:
(1) When diet therapy and other non-drug treatments are not effective, simvastatin can be used to reduce total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia. Simvastatin can also increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and therefore reduce the ratio of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol and total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
(2) In patients with combined hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia, and hypercholesterolemia is the main abnormality, reduce elevated cholesterol levels.
2. Coronary heart disease. For patients with coronary heart disease, simvastatin is used for:
(1) Reduce the risk of death.
(2) Reduce the risk of death from coronary heart disease and non-fatal myocardial infarction.
(3) Reduce the risk of stroke and transient ischemia.
(4) Reduce the risk of myocardial recanalization (coronary artery bypass graft and percutaneous balloon coronary angioplasty).
(5) Delay the progression of atherosclerosis, including the occurrence of new lesions and total blockage.

Dosage
oral.
1. Hypercholesterolemia: Generally, the initial dosage is 10mg per day, and taken at night. For patients with mild to moderately elevated cholesterol levels, the initial dose is 5 mg per day. If the dose needs to be adjusted, the interval should be more than four weeks, and the maximum dose is 40 mg per day. When the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol level drops to 75mg/dL (1.94mmol/L) or the total cholesterol level drops below 140mg/dL (36mmol/L), the dose of simvastatin should be reduced.
2. Coronary heart disease: Patients with coronary heart disease can take 20mg every night as the starting dose. If you need to adjust the dose, please refer to the above instructions (hypercholesterolemia).
3. Synergistic treatment: Simvastatin is effective when used alone or synergistically with bile acid chelator. For patients who have been taking immunosuppressive drugs at the same time, the recommended dose of simvastatin is 10 mg per day.
4. Renal insufficiency: Because the excretion of simvastatin by the kidneys is not obvious, patients with moderate renal insufficiency do not need to adjust the dose. For patients with severe renal insufficiency (muscle liver clearance rate <30ml/min), if the dose exceeds daily 10mg should be carefully considered and used with care.
